Over the past decade, Buchanan has built a highly successful and respected residential real estate practice focused in Newport Beach and Costa Mesa. In addition to delivering the region’s best service, he leverages the expert marketing, sales and negotiation strategies he developed in his prior tenure in industrial land development at CBRE. There, he served as a member of one of the top producing teams in the country, working with Fortune 500 firms, prominent landowners, and many of the top development companies in the world.
Buchanan grew up in a real estate family, learning the development business from the ground up. Although he has traveled extensively, living and working all over the world, he has always gravitated back to the area he loves best – Newport/Mesa. A decorated former Newport Beach lifeguard, Alan is an avid and passionate waterman often seen during the bigger swells heading to the Wedge or Schoolyards on his bike loaded with a pair of fins and a towel. And, like the other members of the Arbor Real Estate family, he is committed to giving back to the community as an active co-founder of the Alumni Collective, a nonprofit formed by a group of Newport Harbor High School alumni to help raise funds for a number of charitable causes including the ENC. A lifelong water polo player/coach, Alan also coaches a boys 14u team at Costa Mesa Aquatics Club.
