Arbor Real Estate’s Rob Montgomery is a Southern California native and has been a resident of Corona del Mar since 1993. As such, he has an impressive knowledge of Corona del Mar – not only of its nuanced real estate market, but also of the wonderful coastal lifestyle the area offers. We sat down with Rob to learn more about life and real estate in Corona del Mar…and about a new listing that’s making news locally at 934 Goldenrod in the heart of the Village.
Why is Corona del Mar (CDM) one of the best places to live in OC?
CDM is completely self-contained. You’ve got stores, restaurants, shops, schools, parks, churches, and the beach…all within a few square miles!
What are the greatest advantages of living in a CDM Village location?
When you live in the Village you can walk everywhere…to the ocean, to the boutique shops, to great bars and restaurants. It’s a way of life you won’t find many other places in SoCal.
What are your favorite things to do in CDM?
One of my favorite things to do is to take my Labrador Retriever on a beach hike from the private beach below Shorecliffs south to the different beaches below Cameo Shores. On a hot summer day, you’ll always see kids jumping off the various rocks that make our coastal community such a scenic and beautiful place to live. I also love to take our little 14′ center console RIB out on pretty days. Whether it’s just my wife and I tooling around the harbor (there’s no better way to see Newport’s bay front homes) or taking my kids down to Emerald Bay, it’s always great to get out on the water.
How long have you lived in CDM and why did you pick CDM to live?
I’ve lived in and around CDM since I moved here in 1993. It didn’t take long to settle in and I’m positive this is where I’ll spend the rest of my life. You can’t beat the weather, beauty of the setting, laid-back lifestyle with everything you need right at your doorstep, exceptional schools and more.
