Arbor Real Estate and the Rob Machado Foundation are teaming up again to raise money for the Clean Water for Kids initiative. The annual Arbor House Party event will be held at Arbor Real Estate on March 30th from 6 pm – 9 pm and the proceeds will go toward installing FloWater drinking stations in schools throughout the Newport-Mesa District. The purpose of the stations is to eliminate single-use water bottles –which pollute our watersheds and oceans –and to give students access to clean, tasty water. The Clean Water for Kids initiative has already funded and installed stations at Newport Elementary School, Ensign Intermediate, both in Newport Beach and Davis Magnet School in Costa Mesa. A new station is scheduled to go into Harbor High School later this month.
Each student in the selected school is provided with a water bottle through the Clean Water for Kids initiative, which will foster pride in and a commitment to their beach community and environment as they refill their bottles. “We are proud of our partnership with The Rob Machado Foundation to help educate local kids about the negative impact single-use plastic water bottles have on our environment and give them an environmentally friendly choice when they are at school,” says Kristin Barry, Managing Broker at Arbor Real Estate.
The Rob Machado Foundation’s (RMF) primary mission is to educate and empower young people to make sustainable choices. Rob Machado is one of the world’s most recognizable surfers as well as a committed environmentalist. In 2004, he established RMF to support environmental programs for youth.
Arbor Real Estate partnered with RMF four years ago to help it further is the goal of installing clean water stations in the local community. “We realized our goals as a brokerage were aligned with Rob’s and it was a natural step for us to partner with him and his foundation,” says Chris Brigandi, Arbor’s Founder.
Last year’s event raised $18,000 for the Rob Machado Foundation.
